Hey guys! Wow. Elphie likey. Drowsy Chaperone was incredible, and it wasn't the only great part of my day, but I'll get to that later. I know a lot of you don't like it, and I can see why you may not, but me? Loved. It. I won't review the songs and such, just because there could be spoilers. But here's a review of some actors and bits of the show:
Bob Martin (Man in chair, aka, Narrator)-Next to Sutton...okay, tied with Sutton...my favorite part of the show. He played this character so well, and was 100% hilarious. I love the Elton John line in the beginning :)
Sutton Foster (Janet Van De Graaff)-I love her. And you wanna know what's sad? I never had actually seen a performance by Sutton, in Millie, I saw her understudy. So this was my first time ever seeing her live. Amazing. She's got a great voice, and a great presence. "Show Off" was fantastic.
Georgia Engel (Mrs. Tottendale)-Well dear old dad was estatic about the whole Mary Tyler Moore connection, so that was cool. But she was really good. Some of the scenes she was in were kind of unecessary though, IMHO.
Jennifer Smith (Kitty)-Even though she's probably too young, and even though she's too "well known" to play a part that isn't really huge, I saw Kristin Chenoweth all over this role. It popped out to me as soon as this lady came onstage, who was good by the way, even though the part can be annoying. I'll mention later why God agreed with me on this idea...
Danny Burstein (Aldolpho)-I have seriously never laughed so hard. Great part, great guy. I can't wait until I can use "Whyyyyyyy?" on my friends.
Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone)-That's some voice! She got what seemed on the urge of a standing O at her song. Whoa. I loved her.
Okay, review's over. Hope you liked it. But first, I must mention why God agreed with Kristin in that role. Well, first of all, I didn't go stage door-ing for Chaperone. Fame came to me. I actually ran into Julia Stiles as she was going down the street with her friends. She walked by me, and my mom and I did a double take. It was her, trust me. So I'm at this restaurant, happily eating my dinner, and suddenly my dad and I look up at the window at the exact same time, and we're like, "Holy crap it's Kristin Chenoweth!!!" Well, he didn't say holy crap. But that was her. I mean, no one is that short, with that voice, and everything else. My mom was like, "Run after her!" but obviously, I didn't. I would then be considered a true stalker. As if I'm not already :) Although it's my dream to really meet her in person. So there you go, my fun filled day. Sorry that was long, but there's a lot to cram in!
Love to you all,
-Elphie

She's pretty famous...she's been in a lot, especially teen comedies. (10 Things I Hate About You!)

I saw Drowsy this evening. It was good, not great, but I agree with everything you said.
I did stage door....Sutton and Georgia didn't sign/use the stage door exit. I left before Bob Martin came out.
Has anyone seen Bob Martin come out of the stage door? Is it possible that he stays in fairly late to work on the show while it's in previews?

It's very possible....However, I do see him walking to work (on matinee days) at around 1-ish.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the show! And I would imagine Kristin Chenoweth would be one of the easiest people to recognize somewhere. If anything, the voice will give it away. An not to mention she's just so darn cute!

Bob Martin came out tonight and was very nice. I was told by the "best man" how funny I was cause I sat front row and for anyone who has see the show, the "ice water" thing had me in tears for like 5 minutes.
So I guess he was watching me and when he saw me at the stage door told me how funny I was. I was shocked cause I couldn't get over how funny all of them were. I adored this show and it will definitely do well is my prediction
Yup
he came out after my show as well, but much much later than the rest of the cast. Unfortunately Jennifer Smith (Kitty) didn't stop to sign any autographs while Sutton did. Everyone exiting the stage door was probably because it was a Monday performance and many other Broadway stars were able to go because of their show schedules (Mylinda Hull, Barret Foa, Gary Beach).
