"There are girls out there that can sing and act Emma Hunton into the ground and would be at their best OPENING NIGHT! And they probably didnt even get callbacks! Its all very screwy!"
OMG Lauren_T I couldn't agree with you more!!! it's SO true. i know nothing of Emma's talents, but your right when you say being "alright" should NOT exist on Broadway and casting directors don't know what they are doing sometimes.

Posted: 3/6/08 at 6:38amhow about Eryn Murman as Wendla..??..I wonder why she doesn't get to go on as much as Alexandra Socha...but Eryn has an AMAZING voice..and from people that were there for her first performance of Wendla January 13th..they said she was great and amazing at everything
re: Emma Hunton as Ilse#52
Posted: 3/6/08 at 3:26pmI saw Eryn as Wendla. She was good, but her voice could not completely handle all of the score. Her voice is pretty, but not exceptionally strong.

Posted: 3/6/08 at 7:10pmI didn't think Eryn was that good at all. She fell pretty flat - acting wise and vocally. Her portayl was all over the map; at one point she was playing Wendla very young and at another point she was playing her as very mature. It just didn't work for me personally. Her voice was iffy as well - it sounded more like an Ilse singing a Wendla track. She's undeniably talented, Wendla just isn't her role. (Though I did not like her Anna either.)

This might be a really quick subject change, but has anyone seen Phoebe understudy for Ilse? I've seen clips and I think she has a great interpretation.
