At first i thought it said "Emma Bunton" (Baby Spice)!
I can't wait to read more. I remember her like this...
I'm also looking forward to hearing about her!

If it had said Emma Bunton I would have died. I ADORE the Spice Girls.
When I hear the name Emma Hunton, I always think "fire alarm" ...
Btw, it's Ilse.

Isla is the worst role in that show...and that's saying something as there are MANY ****ty roles in that show.

let me make that more clear. worst WRITTEN role in the show.

Agreed.
I'm interested to hear her sing "Blue Wind", but (and I HAVE to change subjects for a second) am I the only one on this board who thinks the show is a huge misfire?

You most certainly are not. It's one of the most popular subjects on this board.
Isla is definitely the worst role. I mean, the character's not even in the show!
I've heard people being skeptical about Emma's short, 20s-esque hair. I find that absolutely ridiculous. They've turned on her because of her haircut. Didn't Krysta Rodriguez have, like, the same exact haircut? She's been on as Ilse. But I guess the problem is that there won't be any braids-transition throughout the show.

Krysta didn't look like she just finished Thoroughly Modern Millie, though. Emma does.
I actually really enjoyed Emma. She's got some work to do, but I think she's headed in the right direction. I'm working on my review and will post it when it's done.

I found Krysta's hair to be completely distracting when I saw her on for Anna last summer. I guess hair doesn't matter for Spring Awakening (I mean, just look at the non-nonsensical styles sported by Gallagher, Bashoff and Astin)

Krysta is beautiful with long hair, too. She looked awesome as Martha and I wish she would wear her hair like that all the time.

Emma should NOT "have work to do". That is a load of crap. This is BROADWAY! Not a community theatre. She should be 100% on from her first night to her last. Spring Awakening gets some not so hot talent through there. Hello Alexandra Socha and her "not always finding the correct key and high school acting" talents. I am sorry, but the casting directors of SA seem to have no idea what they are doing most the time! ugh! It pisses me off when people think it is ok to be "alright" on Broadway. There are girls out there that can sing and act Emma Hunton into the ground and would be at their best OPENING NIGHT! And they probably didnt even get callbacks! Its all very screwy!

Actually, Alexandra was my absolute favorite Wendla. She was on key the entire time and gave the best acted performance out of anyone on that stage. And believe me, the girls who are not getting callbacks are not the ones who should be on that stage. Just because you didn't like a performance doesn't mean the casting directors "don't know what they're doing".
Lauren, I hope you know how ridiculous you sound. There's a huge difference between what you do in rehearsal, and what you do onstage. Your performance changes due to the audience. Emma has done 3 performances in front of an audience so far, and in my opinion, she's doing well. All actors grow and change in their performance. Name me a performer who was perfect in their role from the start. You can't find one. Even they will say that they had not reached what they were trying to do.

Alexandra is not great. No matter how you shake it. I have seen her more than once and she just should not be on Broadway. She needs time to grow. A lot of time. And I know I am not the only one who feels that way. People behind me one night said they wish the could get their money back because if they wanted to see a high school talent they would have went to their local school and paid $10. I think casting got a little too caught up in the fact she looks the part! Even that is a little sketchy.
