Towards the end of its run, Rent would have a pretty empty mezzanine. It was an easy field trip for high school theatre/music kids, so I had a few experiences where my bus load of kids was most of the mezzanine.

I was there. On a Saturday night in October. Got a real cheap last minute orchestra seat. Looked around and saw rows and rows empty. The loge upstairs at the Vivian Beaumont was definitely empty. A lot of people who had seats up there just came down and took empty orchestra seats. It was a sad sight. The show wasn't great.
