I have searched for an existing thread, but haven't found one. Can anybody give me feedback as to which onstage seats are best---the ones on the side or the ones in the very back? Does it make a difference whether you are in Row A or Row B. I want to see the show from onstage, but am torn which way to go.

You'll want to be off to the side.

From what I heard from people, don't! The horses are below you so you miss some of that AND, people will be on their knees because if you sit, the panel blocks your view even further.

I saw 3rd to last row in the balcony and was fine. It's not like Xanadu where you literally are, or were re: Equus Onstage Seating, on stage

I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

Okay, thanks. I kind of have to get onstage. I had purchased tickets onstage when they first went on sale, but now that the seats have been raised the prices have been lowered. I was told I could get a refund on the difference as long as I attended the same performance and sat onstage. As a result, I'm getting a second chance to choose whether to be on the side or in the back.

How much are onstage seats now?

I think they are $76 most days, $61 on Wednesday matinees and the original full price of $116 on Friday an Saturday nights. When I originally purchased, they were all $116 each.

I'd try for the sides in row A of the onstage seats. My personal preference would be stage right.

I would definitely tell you to sit on the side because you'll be able to see some of the stuff that happens in the centre better

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up getting the side, Row B, the two most downstage seats (Row A wasn't an option). Hopefully those will be okay. I'll be in NY for the whole week, so I might try and get some last minute Orch tickets for another performance if I feel that I've missed a great deal in those seats.

I heard from a review on youtube that the lighting is the only thing that makes it hard to see things, but it could just depend where you're sitting...
