I've been seeing Kevin Spacey since he was in the Liv Ullmann production of Ghosts. I've never liked him -- Long Day's Journey, Lost in Yonkers, Iceman Cometh, Moon for the Misbegotten. I feel that Moon was spoiled forever by the great revival in '74 with Robards and Dewhurst -- one of the greatest evenings EVER. The only one who came within light years of Robards was Gabriel Byrne in the otherwise not-very-good revival of Moon -- and he threw the play out of balance because the others simply weren't in the same league. I shudder at the idea of Spacey in a musical of any kind.
He's great in L.A. Confidential ... but then, everyone is great in L.A. Confidential.
Peter Gallagher has an offer out.

I'd second the vote for Peter Gallagher. He's a known singer -- Guys and Dolls, A Doll's Life, Annie Get Your Gun, Pal Joey -- and a fine actor. I know I've been yakking about Raul, whom I also would like to see in the role, but Peter would be fine in my book, too.
