OK, thanks. So last night, although they were doing a scene from Act I, he was doing it without the wig and beard he normally wears in that scene, I guess.
I never for a minute believed there was any kind of relationship between Evans "George" and Jenna's "Dot". No chemistry. I couldn't stand Evans' singing or his acting. He lost because he didn't deserve it.
The song they did last night, "Move On", takes place during Act 2. It's just before the reprise of "Sunday".
I do wish Evans had won but Szot had been the frontrunner for weeks. His win was no surprise.

H. Higgins is right, it's the second to last number of the show.
When he gasps in awe before the final blackout, I've audibly weeped every time.
But nothing kills me more than when the cast bows to him. Sobbing, all four times!

I'm sorry but he's too happy looking with that goofy smile of his. I prefer someone more intense, as performed by Mandy or Raul.
Duh, of course it was Act II. What was I thinking? I walked in at the end of it, and was thrown by seeing Jenna in the ACT I dress and was just thinking it was Act I, not the "imaginary" scene.
OK, sorry, I mentioned it all.
I agree with everything that was already said. He really should have won and this is the only category I was actually upset about for the most part! He was brilliant.
I admit to having a bit of a crush on Daniel Evans. He's absolutely the cutest thing ever (although Mr. Szot is Hzot). I loved his George to pieces and the joy and exhuberance he brought to the show. He also seems like the sweetest and smartest guy (he's a philosophy student). I hope he comes back to New York again.
(I realize this is the 2nd time I've seen him on Broadway. I saw the Midsummer Night's Dream he was in a few year's back.)
