Ever left a show humming the songs?!

Everyone (meaning critics) say that most hit shows need to have that angle to it where one can leave singing the songs. Most agreed that this was present during HAIRSPRAY and shows of that nature. Never in all the shows Ive seen, have I ever left humming the tunes. I mean, after the first time I sawWICKED, I was trying to sing Popular but the only word I knew was..."popular"...LOL. Have you ever actually left a Broadway show for the first time singing a song!? Id be interested to hear which show and which song.

"Most agreed that this was present during HAIRSPRAY and shows of that nature."

Shows that are high on spectacle and low on smarts?

Assassins, i'm serious, i walked out and couldn't stop singing Another National Anthem

Ahh, I loved Assassins.
I would have to say Caligula. The music was awesome, and by the end of the show it all sounded familiar.

Assassins for me too.
I think it was just to spite Sondheim critics who say his music isn't hummable.

From the very first time I saw TWHM, I left the theater not only humming the tunes, but dancing on air!

Most recently, Altar Boyz. I left humming "iii believe" and "we are the AL-tar boyz." A bunch of others too. It was very tuneful and catchy. Great show, can't wait to see it off-Broadway.

Every time. I have a memory for tunes, especially if they are repeated throughout a show. Sometimes, it can get annoying... lol

Many times.
When I saw Hairspray: Good Morning Baltimore was stuck in my head.
Wicked: No Good Deed
Bombay Dreams, I did not see this production, but
in front of the theater where this show is playing,
they have a tv with slips of the show and the song
Shakalaka baby was stuck in my head.

always....until i saw dracula

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says, "I will try again tomorrow."

the worst for me was after seeing Evita for the first time: I sang Don;t Cry For Me Argentina for weeks.

Imagine how bad it was the first few times I performed in the show. That song has got a melody that attaches itself to the membranes in my body and wont let go.

After Avenue Q, I called my sister on my cell phone and sang "What do you do with a BA in English?" on the phone. I got some weird stares from people walking on the sidewalk...

Most of the time I do. When I don't, I know the show wasn't up to par.

I actually left Caroline humming Salty Teardrops. I still remember some of the choreography too and when i'm listening to it(by myself), do said choreography.

God I can't believe I just admitted that.

re: Ever left a show humming the songs?!

I recently saw Jesus Christ Superstar and I couldn't stop humming 'What's the Buzz'... It bothered me because there were so many more songs that I liked more than that one but it was too catchy for it's own good...

I leave shows humming the songs a lot. Especially if I've seen the show a few times and am very familiar with the music re: Ever left a show humming the songs?!

Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
