While I'm looking forward to this revival (and praying for a Broadway opening as well) I have to say that there are two things from the original production that I am going to miss: the screen and the revolving door (anyone who has seen the national US tour or the original production knows what I mean).
Question for anyone who might know: at the funeral, does the Eva actress sing the "Don't Cry For Me..." bit and then quickly change costume on stage as in the original, or is it more of a voice-over like the movie?
Kec- if I'm correct it began previews on the 6th (so last week)
I've heard this is a fantastic production with a lot of dancing (so a big difference to the original) and that Roger is great and has great chemistry with Peron (sorry I forget his name) which I think was lacking, in the movie at least.
'It was six hours! I don't even like to have sex or eat bacon for six hours!'
'You are faboulous creatures each and every one'
How do they do the "Good Night And Thank You" number if the revolving door is not used? I didn't much care for the overhead screen. I found it distracting and not very well edited. I'm glad they're doing more dancing, but I hope it's not similar to the original Larry Fuller choreography. I found it to be rather amateurish.
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
