Exciting 12 months for Vertigo Theatre Productions

Hey Guys
Just wanted to let you know some exciting news for my company Vertigo who are fast becoming one of Manchester's most successful fringe companies.
After scoring hits and sell out runs with Rage, OUT, 'M' and the UK Premiere of Dog Sees God; Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead it looks like the next 12 months will be the biggest yet.

We have scored another UK premiere, this time it will be the Tony Nominated writer Charles Busch play Die Mommie Die which has achieved huge cult status both on stage and screen. Die Mommie Die tells the story of Angela Arden, a fallen pop diva trapped in a hateful marriage to film producer Sol Sussman. Desperate to find happiness with her younger lover, Angela gruesomely murders her husband with the aid of a poisoned suppository, leaving her two children to avenge their father's death. Busch has found fame with writing these part parody part homage pieces to 1940s,50s and 60s Hollywood as well as playing the leading the ladies. His Off Broadway hit’s include Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, The Lady in Question and Red Scare at Sunset to name a few. He was also Tony Nominated for his Broadway play The Allergists Wife and wrote the book for Broadway's production of Taboo.
He’s also found success on screen as the writer and star of Die Mommie Die and Psycho Beach Party (both based on his plays) as well as Writer and Director (as well as star) of the movie A Very Serious Person and his acting work on the prison drama Oz.

The production will open March 21st at Taurus on Canal Street before moving on to other venues. The play will see Dale Vicker step in to the role of Angela Arden made famous on Stage and Screen by Busch himself. Joining him will be Emma Willcox as Edith and Richard Allen as Lance. More casting to be announced soon.

Vertogo will then present the original play Don't Ask Don't Tell based on the true story of a US Army private who was murdered at the hands of his fellow soldiers because of his relationship with a transgender showgirl. The play has received funding from the Arts Council/Lottery and will have its first reading at AXM In November. The show will then move to a large venue in July 2011 (Venue to be announced very soon) where it promises to be the biggest production Vertigo has ever done.
Casting so far includes Dale Vicker, Rick Carter, Benn Rayner, Richard Allen, Christopher Faith, Michael Gates and Adele Stanhope (more casting to be announced soon). The play is written by Craig Hepworth and Adele Stanhope.

Thanks for reading

Thanks so much, it’s very exciting here, till we saw the schedule and cried.
4 weeks rehearsal for the workshop industry reading of DADT in November then that finishes December 1st, 2 weeks later we go in to rehearsals for Die Mommie Die and that closes March 26th. Then April we start rehearsals for the main production of DADT, That closes in July, then 3 weeks off and straight in to rehearsals on The Defeo Murders which opens November. It's a bloody good job we have been in pre production with these shows for a while lol
