You honestly like Toni Braxton in those roles? No joke?

Having seen almost all of those on your lists, I"d say Kim HUber was the best Belle and besides my Heather, the best AIDA was Maya Days (despite her myriad of vocal problems).

hate to agree with Matt_G, but Toni? Whatever..

BroadwayGuy2, how can Brooke be your favorite replacement if she hasn't performed the role yet nor have you seen her in it?

I mean, I think she's talented and loved her in hairspray when I saw it, but I wouldn't place her on that list until after she's actually performed...

I really liked Christianne Tisdale as Belle. I saw her once when she was an understudy and again when she was promoted to the role.

I've seen B&tB with various Belle's and Toni Braxton had to be the absolute worse. The only good thing to come out of that performance was sitting next to a foreign exchange student from my high school days (who I hadn't seen or talked to in the 15 or so years prior). As a result, we are still in contact today.

Never saw Aida.

Susan Egan MADE that role. No one will ever adequately replace her, IMHO.

But Sarah Uriate was close .

And I wasn't much of an Aida fan to pay attention. I know that my husband LOVED Heather Headley though.

Two Belles have been left off the list:

Ann Sanders and Megan McGinnis.

Just wanted to throw them into the running...

I really, really enjoyed Sarah Litzinger as Belle. Of course, she was the only one I saw next to Susan Egan, but I fell in love wiuth her voice, and I thought she was perfect for the role when I saw her.

I really enjoyed Deborah Cox as Aida as well. She has a beautiful voice, although her acting wasn't as good as it could be...so she's not my favorite, but she's the only one I saw, so I can't really comment.

Sarah Litzinger was a great Belle. I saw her two times, and also she was on the Disney Cruise I went on a few years ago, and did a caberet-style show for the guests. She's really good.

And for Aida, I saw Heather (who was amazing), and Maya Days. She was good, but I liked Heather better.

Although not a fabulous singer, I think Megan McGinnis was the best actress of all the Belles. Litzsinger sang it great, and overall I like Sarah Uriarte Berry best.

The only Aida I saw was Cox, but I thought she was pretty darn good.

I only saw Simone as Aida but she was wonderful - acting and singing wise!

Brooke is on all the advertising outside the theatre for B+B, so how come she's not on yet? Who is playing Belle right now? I don't get it...

this is probably rude, but toni braxton sucks. :) i know, i know, i am harsh on pop stars/movie people w/o theater experience who try to do stage, but it's true in her case. heather headley was sooo hard to replace, and susan rocks.

I don't get get what you guys mean that Brooke Tansley hasnt started performances in "Beauty and the Beast" yet. If she hasn't, then her run will be a pretty short one, because according to Broadway.com, Ashley Brown will begin performances as the new Belle on September 20th. That article was posted May 5th, and it lists Tansley as Belle. They also have a photo gallery from April when the show celebrated it's eleventh birthday, and they say Tansley is Belle there also, showing pictures of her with Steve Blanchard and different ensemble members. In the original article they have about her joining the show, they said she would be starting performances Spetember 14th, and since that was last year, that would mean she's been Belle for almost a year.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
