Just got this in the mail....
FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: THE ROAST OF UTOPIA Special Summer Edition is the brand new installment of the hilarious musical comedy that has been skewering Broadway's biggest shows and brightest stars for more than 25 years. Performances begin June 13 and Telecharge customers can see this scorching summer edition of the 2006 Tony® Honor recipient for only $29.50! From Legally Blonde to Spring Awakening, Grey Gardens to Jersey Boys, come laugh out loud at all of Broadway's hits and misses.
From Avenue Q to Wicked, Forbidden Broadway presents 97 minutes of theatre's sharpest send-ups and takedowns. Nothing is sacred, and no one is off-limits - even Annie, The Lion King, Hairspray & Mary Poppins get burned! All the stars, all the smash-hits, and all stinkers of the season get their due in the sizzling musical that The New York Times calls, “Consistently riotous! The most inviting introduction to the Broadway season.”

I'm still not sure how to post the entire message, but there is a "Special Offer" link at the bottom of it for $29.50 tickets for shows through October 15 if you purchase by July 15th.
I guess I can list it here, right???
If not, let me know and I will delete it.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 2:29pmGerard once said that he hates the "I'm 30 years old Tomorrow" bit and has wanted to remove it for years, but hasn't because he can't figure out why the hell everybody still thinks it's so funny.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 2:45pmAbridged, I think it's because that line, "I'm thirty years old, tomorrow," is so rhythmically, musically, and lyrically perfect.

Hey guys. Someone just forwarded me this thread because I'm in the show right now... and apparently "BillFinn" thinks I'm dreamy. HOW NICE! (Thanks, man!) :)
To answer some of the questions: this cast runs through August 19. Erin Crosby and I were hired just as summer replacements, but Jared Bradshaw and Janet Dickinson will continue with the fall cast. (I am staying to understudy for a couple of weeks since I already know half the show.)
The show won't change much at first, but Gerard wants an entirely new show by mid-September when the new version (the name of which I won't reveal... but it's funny!) is slated to open.
As for "Annie"... that was retired with the SVU version last fall. Hard to let go of old favorites, I guess. "Beauty" is still in ours for a couple of days more... only so that the very last lyric could be changed (I won't give that away, either).
Finally, for COMPANY. Yes, it's in the show and will probably stay in for awhile. It's two part: "Unaccompanied" and "Being Intense." I'm lucky enough to play Raul. He came to see the show, actually, and was very generous. If I'm being honest, I get a great set-up.... "Unaccompanied" is some of Gerard's best writing ever. I think it's brilliant. And I just have to stand there and look moody.
The show is almost exactly 50% new stuff right now, so it's really thrilling to be a part of it -- even for a limited run! Y'all come see it before August 19!

NYC is ultra talented as is Erin.
The Rude Awakening number is outstanding. As is the new Company and GG numbers.
You should see both versions.
FB is the greatest off broadway show ever created.
And, I have seen it more times than I want to admit.
I am a Forbidden Broadway junkie and I am proud!!!!

Hey. Thanks, Corine!
Erin and I leave the show on the 19th. I'm not sure why the press materials said we were through the 22nd. My GUESS is that our performance week ends on Wednesday, but our PAY week (so much more important) ends on Sunday. :)
A recording will be made, but I don't think anyone has a timeline on that. I would expect that it'd be made in the spring.

You are both fantastic. I love your performance as Raul. It is hysterical. Erin's Mermin is outstanding.
Sing out, Louise.

Posted: 7/31/07 at 12:28pmYes! I'm so glad there will be a recording of "Roast". I am, unfortunately, unable to see it, so this will be the next best thing.

when does "Roast of Utopia" switch over to "Rude Awakening"? Because im trying to buy tickets for Rude Awakening but all I see is "Roast of Utopia"...
If I buy tickets for October, will they be for Rude Awakening?
#28re: FORBIDDEN BROADWAY Summer Edition
Posted: 8/13/07 at 1:10pmYes; October will be for Rude Awakening. They don't do a very good job updating the names of the show on the Forbidden website or on Telecharge...
