They would have won Best Musical and probably book and score.
I don't know how much, if any, consideration was given to a transfer by the producers but either way they are probably kicking themselves now.
Let's not give up hope. (Although it's rather sad they would likely have done very nicely this year. Maybe we'll see it next season. Fingers crossed.)
Wasn't it said in a previous thread that the Public was working on "Here LIes Love" and then is expected to transfer Fun Home to Broadway this fall? I'm sure they'll book the Booth or Schoenfeld.

The Elephant Man has booked the Booth for the fall.
There are plenty of other theaters the show could work at. It's a small musical. Like I've said before, if MTC were smart, they'd pick it up. It would work perfectly in that space.
This could work in much bigger theaters then the Booth. Like I said early in this thread, ONCE, imo, is by far a more intimate show all in all.
I really hope FUN HOME wins the Pulitzer. It's completely deserving and would also help momentum for a transfer. While it might have been a front-runner for awards this season, the market is very crowded and I'm afraid it would have struggled to find an audience.
I think there is still a chance of it coming in.
I do wonder about momentum though... It seems they could have pushed in at the end of the season and been the big hit with momentum.
Waiting a year is tough ...
I always think back to SCOTTSBORO BOYS - imagine if it had moved directly from the Vineyard that season --- It would have been up against MEMPHIS and FELA. I believe had that happened, MEMPHIS would have won zero Tonys and SCOTTSBORO would still be running.
Scottsboro also opened at a bad time though. I wonder if things would have worked out differently if they opened in March/April 2011. They would have been open for the Tony nominations and wins.
I've just listened to FUN HOME a few times and I'm floored at how great it is ("Changing my Major", "Ring of Keys" and "Days and Days" will become some of my favourite songs ever, I'm sure).. This should open at a small play house. Better audience experience and better financial outcomes IMO.
You don't think Elephant Man will try for a bigger theater??? (I wonder if Mamma Mia might close at the end of the summer and the Broadhurst would be open.) I would think that since the run has to be very limited (based on Cooper's availability), they might try for a larger house to milk all the money they can. (Also, the Broadhurst is good theater for the show-I'm very familiar with the Williamstown staging and it would work. It actually would be neat in the Circle in the Square, but this production is coming from a proscenium staging, so the Broadhurst is more appropriate. Or, the larger Schoenfeld or even the Jacobs, as I think Once's days are numbered.)
If Fun Home even is short listed for the Pulitzer (I'm in the camp that believes it deserves to win), then it could get it to Broadway come fall. I'm hoping this happens. The Booth, Golden, even the Jacobs would work. I think the Schoenfeld is a little large-it feels bigger. (The Jacobs is more intimate.) Another possibility is that MTC or Roundabout picks it up, but I'm not sure I see that happening.
