I'm a newbie here and a just mailed a letter to a certain actress. Has anyone sent fan mail then worried that the person will think it's the dumbest thing they've ever read?

No. In the history of fan correspondence, no one has ever worried about this.
...of course people have worried about this! Of course you're not alone. But do you really think they're going to ridicule what you said in such a way that you'll find out?

No, I won't know unless she doesn't send a reply. That would be a big clue. Phyllis were you being a smarty pants? It's hard to tell on the Internet but I think you were making fun of me a little. Luckily I can handle it.??

Exactly. So don't worry about it.

Don't expect a reply. Regardless.

Actresses cannot always respond to every letter they receive. Just because she doesn't respond doesn't mean she hasn't received and acknowledged your letter, I'm sure she will be thankful for the praise.

I read the thread about getting stuff back and found it interesting that some seem to send a picture or Playbill pretty consistently but others are known for not responding at all. I would like to think that I would respond if I was an actor. But I'm not holding my breath. People are busy.

Do you know how much fan mail some of these people get? It could be impossible for some of them. It would be another job.
