Fantasia Barrino at COLOR PURPLE tonight...

Well celebrities can see a Broadway show for pleasure... Just because she was there doesn't mean that she is looking to join the cast. And I don't think there are any roles I can see her in in the Color Purple.

Trust me, I know they can come and see shows. However the atmosphere around her suggested different. That's the only reason we were wondering.

Just what a Broadway show needs - a screecher who couldn't even play herself convincingly in a TV movie.
The worst of the worst of stunt casting, if it were to happen.

I dunno....when I spotted Billy Joel at Spring Awakening, I thought for sure he was in talks to step in for (name of actor who plays the character in love with piano teacher).

I was there that night Billy Joel was there, as well. However in his case I knew exactly why he was there.

I could see her in a role in 'Purple', but if they were to go the stunt casting route there are just way better people out there they could get.

Haha...if she does go on people will realize how much Diana Degarmo is better than her. Funny that they might both be on Broadway.

Yeah, no offense, that was sarcasm....Not directed at you, J.C., but directed at the amounts of "OMG, (insert random blonde) was at WICKED tonight...maybe she's gonna play Glinda!" kind-of threads. Nothing personal (and I wasn't there the night Billy was there - being a huge fan of his, I would have been more than starstruck.)

maybe if she had like managers around her it was because they had a stop or gig in NY and decided "Hey, lets do to the theater!" (just like that.)

She was just performing at Madison Square Garden last night with Jamie Foxx. I was there tonight and didn't see her, but I did enjoy the musical. I cannot see her as Celie and certainly not as Shug.

I'd rather she be in a movie of the musical.
Just cause I want people to suffer. Bad writing, singing, and acting. Probably bad directing.
I'm kind of in a bad mood right now.

I was there tonight too! Where were you sitting?
And who is Fantasia Barrino?

I was there tonight. Did anyone stay for the talkback?
The cast were all excellent.
If you have not seen "The Color Purple" you should try and see it before Sunday. Dixon will be leaving the show. If you live in Chicago, you will see Felicia.
She is amazing. Dixon and Felicia have great chemistry. It is sad that he is leaving. He is very talented and super nice. I hope someone puts him in another terrific show. My favorite number in the show is "Any Little Thing" and "Hell, No"

I feel like she just went to see the show. Not like I have any reason to say that, other than:
1. She can't sing, especially ANY of the songs from that score.
2. She couldn't even convincingly play herself. She couldn't possibly convincingly play someone else.

Fantasia could not have been nicer, exiting the theatre she stopped and signed autographs and took countless pictures with fans. Even as her security person was trying to shove her into the car she kept saying “one more” and “hold on” as she took more pictures. Other notable audience members tonight included Brenda Blackmon (UPN9) who was there for the talkback and Chester Gregory of Tarzan

Yeah. I talked with Brandon and Felicia after the show. Dixon told me he is leaving. Something good will happen for him. He is super talented and super sweet. I was at the talkback and I would have talked if I did not have hat head. (Really bad hair day)

Well, I'd say that I can't imagine anyone else as great as Harpo, but before tonight I said that I couldn't imagine anyone else as brilliant as LaChanze playing Celie, and Ms. Bayardelle blew me away. Best of luck to Brandon. He is beaming with talent (and he's damn cute).

Ugh, I'm sure Fantasia is a very nice person but I think that she's the worst singer to win American Idol.

Can anyone post a picture if you got one of her leaving? My phone wasnt on and by the time I turned it on and got through all the settings she was mobbed and getting into the car, so i have serveral pictures of the top of her head, but none of her face. So if someone wouldnt mind I would be greatful
Thanks.
Thanks.

She should have turned the corner & saw how she beat Diana yet Diana is doing a lot better than she is...

I think Fantasia has a great voice, but it's very different. Kind of like a Tina Turner thing going on with her. I think she needs more acting experience before stepping into one of those roles. The only role I can see her in is Celie, but her acting would really have to improve in order to play that part.
