Ever since Bernadette ended her GYPSY run I've been saying how amazing it'd be if she played Mrs. Lovett in a movie version of Sweeney Todd, or on stage... but movie-musicals are becoming popular now. It'd be AMAZING.
Also, I love Rachel York, and she would be amazing as a Marilyn Monroe type. I'd love to see her in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof as well. She's very talented. And I'd love to see her live in Kiss Me Kate!

Posted: 8/16/04 at 6:41pmYeah Jane can dance...very well I've heard. She was originally supposed to play Charity in the Sweet Charity revival before Christina. She is a great singer and actress.

Some great casting ideas here! All you agents out there, please pay attention.
I had no idea that Jane Krakowski was being considered for SWEET CHARITY before Christina Applegate was cast. I think she would have been a much stronger choice. I know a lot of folks here have said that Christina Applegate can sing and dance and she'll probably surprise people, but I'm having a hard time seeing her in the role. I guess I just can't get Gwen Verdon out of my mind when I think of Charity. Tough shoes to fill.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 8:40pmOh please don't talk about Chicago ending. . . at least not until it goes downhill, but if it can survive Melanie it can survive anything. That thought makes me sad. Krakowski has the sheer sex appeal and personality to make the role her own. If she ever did do Chicago I would be there in a heartbeat.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 9:16pmKrakowski has been offered the role of Roxie many, many times. She doesn't want to take a role over that some other actress originated. She said it in an interview a while back. She was also offered the role of Sally in Cabaret several times I've been told and turned that down for the same reason.
