But how do you know that it was a producers thing and not an understudy thing? Nobody really knows why Fatone was put in early, it sounds like he wasn't really happy about being "thrown in" early.
Because unless the understudy was dead, they wouldn't miss their chance to be the lead of a major Broadway musical.
Yea, I did read somewhere that he was prepared ahead of time, so he started early. I will try to find where. But yea, I dont see an understudy who is lucky enough to get this chance, passing it up. Unless of course there was an emergency of some sort. Updated On: 6/23/04 at 11:00 AM
I feel really bad for Jon Rayson...
I saw him when we went to the show on 6/18 and he was wonderful. I wish he would have been able to finish his whole run.
Hey Johny - I was at Hairspray last night as well.. :)
I did. He was great. On the other hand, I thought he was excellent in RENT as well. Updated On: 6/23/04 at 01:30 PM

if an understudy goes on for more than 2 weeks straight you have to give him the role or make a deal. that may have something to do with it.

Sum and Mistress, I agree. That is what I meant by my first post.
