The Music that makes Me Dance. I saw a dinner theater do it once and there was this girl in the show named Bobbi Crownover and she did the best rendition of the song I had ever heard (sorry BABS)

Has anyone heard Stephanie J. Block singing Don't Rain On My Parade?? It's incredible! I found it last night when I was looking for clips from the Wicked tour-and she sounds amazing. AHHH-I wonder what she'd be like as Fanny. She obviously has a really strong voice. Do you all think she could pull it off? (Thread jacking my own thread..)

I ABSOLUTELY love "People," "Don't Rain on My Parade," "Music that Makes Me Dance" and "Who Are You Now." All are truly wonderful songs --- especially being sung by Stephanie J. Block. A true joy to hear, having been in "Funny Girl" with her! Updated On: 4/27/05 at 09:14 PM
I'm not too familiar with this musical, except for having heard brief clips of the movie's soundtrack and hearing "Don't Rain On My Parade" being sung endlessly on "American Idol". From reading this thread alot I get the feeling there are major differences between the way the songs were performed on stage versus the movie and also that songs were cut for the film.
WHat are the major differences between the stage FUNNY GIRL and the movie FUNNY GIRL?

You were in it...WITH HER? The version I have is supposedly from some party...it's AMAZING. I prefer her over Barbra. Sorry to those of you who are Barbra fanatics...

Yes, I was in "FUNNY GIRL" with Stephanie in March/April 2000 in Thousand Oaks, California. She was AMAZING. She got standing ovations EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and one of the reviews headlined with "Barbara who?"
I can't say it enough --- she is so AMAZING! She is also one of the sweetest people I have worked with!
"Cornet Man" is THE BEST song on there! :) In my opinion of course. lol
Though I do enjoy "Don't Rain On My Parade" simply because Barbra's voice cracks when she goes for the high note.
