Posted: 6/23/05 at 3:30pmI've always loved the Les Miz playbill and RENT logo- also, the "Remember your first time..." POTO ad is pretty clever, I thought.

Posted: 6/23/05 at 3:33pmi'd have to agree with POTO's "remember your first time"
re: Favorite Broadway Ad / Playbill#17
Posted: 6/23/05 at 3:38pmIndeed- and I remember having a cow walking by the Imperial after Les Miz had closed and seeing the massive (gorgeous) logo pasted over with Hugh Jackman in gold pants. Not that I had an issue with Hugh or his pants- they were very nice- but it was a shocker. The Les Miz logo is just powerful.

And of course, the Ragtime logo. ::sigh::

I love the DRS ads. Like "Unlimited Champagne! (from the theatre bar)" or "Free Lobsters! (from those crowded little tanks)"
They are hilarious (at least to me and my love of silly humor.
I also think their logo is superb, coming from someone who is studying to be a graphic designer. It tells so much about the story, without relying on actual actors' photos. And I love palm trees, so that's a plus right there.

Sadly, I think the ads for DRS are more amusing than the cast recording (I've never seen the show). "Take Your Mother! (For everything she's worth)" "Free Mink Stole! (If you ain't careful)" "Half-Off for all Fathers (Must show clerical collar)"
The logo for The Light in the Piazza (the new one- the silhouette of Clara) is gorgeous, and I've always been partial to Miss Saigon, too. Sweeney Todd gives you a good idea of what you're in for...
