A Chorus Line by far for me... so much iconic choreography packed into that little show! Wonderful.

anything you do let it come from you and it will be new.

On further consideration:
It's gotta be West Side Story first.
It made it cool to be a male dancer.
Groundbreaking stuff and so central to the tone of the musical,
and for that matter to the source (R&J).

shrekster224 - My youngest daughter can turn like a freaking spinning top (lol) and do "tricks" like a double illusion. They were impressed with the jumps and the precision of the group while turning. They also really enjoyed the tapping in Newsies.

Kudos to those who read and respected the OP's post for "Favorite" as opposed to a list.

Fela! I saw it on tour in Toronto last year. While it isn't a perfectly told story by any means, the atmosphere and dancing were so engaging. I loved how there was no exact "top pf show." Instead, the dancers started slowly entering on at about 15 to just dancing lightly and grooving with the band-it was the most chill thing. I'd see the show again because of the endlessly inviting atmosphere and the dancing and movement. But the actor who played Fela was incredible. So much stammina, energy, charisma, and raw emotion in his performance that just carried the show beautifully.

A Chorus Line. Without a shadow of a doubt. The best dance musical and arguably the best musical of all time.
