I read the post about the Gershwin Theatre and the Ford Center. Just wondering what everyone's FAVORITE theatre on Broadway is. I like the Al Hershfeild. It's a good sze and has great views of the stage from everywhere.

The Imperial, mostly for nostalgia reasons from seeing Les Miz and loving performances. I liked being first in line to get in, I liked the souvenir booths, I liked sitting in the seats and watching the pattern on the scrim, I liked the way the theatre looked, I liked the way it smelled, I liked the mezzanines and loved the orchestra. I liked its size - perfect - and I love its location and I adored stage dooring there.
Won't go there now - Hugh Jackman or no, Boy from Oz holds no appeal to me.

1. Shubert Theatre
2. Winter Garden...oh, excuse me. It's the CADILLAC Winter Garden these days.
uhh hard 1 haha cuz ive only been to 6 different broadway theatres!
i like the marquis cuz theres a lot of leg room, clean, simple looking, modern, comfy seats, haha nd i hav to admitt it that the the hotel it self i luv! (minus elevators)
i also liked the palace theatre cuz its a nice size nd its not sqished as a lot of nyc theatres are, it also reminds me a lot of the theatres we hav here in chicago.
the last theatre i like is the new amsterdam cuz it has soo much history nd plus i got to stand on the stage for awhile nd look out into thehouse =-D!
thats about it! =D
i really disliked the Imperial because i thought it felt like a collge theatre more than a broadway theatre. I don't know why. Maybe it was the ack of decoration.
My favorite Broadway theater would probably be the Majestic, but the only downside is that there isn't really that much leg room (Just a little cramped). I am somewhat of a modern theater-lover, so my second favorite is probably the Minskoff, wierd I know, but there is just something about it (I think that it's the size of the stage....IT'S ENORMOUS). I also love the Shubert Theater, the Imperial Theater and the Winter Garden Theater. They're all great, but some just stand out more than others!

Does it matter that they are no longer standing? The Earl Carroll Theatre, which was at 50th Street and 7th Avenue, and the original Ziegfeld Theatre, which was at 54th Street and Sixth Avenue (not the movie theatre near that location that bears the same name, but the spectacular Broadway theatre that was demolished in 1967).
How do you know about those theatres?
the Broadway Theater
the theater urinetown was held in (sorry, can't remember the name)
the Winter Garden
Studio 54 (does that count??)
Urinetown was in the Henry Miller, and still is until mid Jan. I like it, but I think that theatre only really works for Urinetown in it's current condition.
what do you guys think of the minskoff? What has played there other than DOTV and Sunset?

That place is cursed........
I have heard that it's cursed. What is the curse? And also, does anyone know where can I find a list of all the theatres and all the shows that have played in them?
Thanks

The curse is that every show that plays there is a failure in some way...
Check Internet Broadway Database.. just do a search for the theatre names, and you will find a list of all shows to play there.

why can't i findthe neil simon theatre?
i love the Gershwin and Minskoff. They are both so comfortable and big lol.

I love the Gershwin and the Shubert. Both are very comfortable (to me), and you get different feelings from both. The Shubert is small and cozy, while the Gershwin is big. I get a great feeling whenever I am in either of these theatres.
i liked the feeling in the shubert
the shubert definatley
Sorry, balcony ceiling too low.
