re: Favorite Bway Love Songs... that don't ever drop the L word

I happen to like New York. I've never heard it performed before monday night at Broadway by the year 1930 and when Mary Testa sang this song, it felt like a love song to New York. I was tearing up towards the end. Its become my favorite Cole Porter song. Just brillant.

How about "If Ever I Would Leave You" (Camelot), "A Place for Us" (West Side Story), "The Music of the Night" (Phantom of the Opera)"?
"And the postman sighed as he scratched his head, you really rather thought she ought to be dead..."
