What is your favorite musical finale? Last finale scene or song.
Mine has to be "The Finale Scene" from Sunset Boulevard. It's epic. Especially the Glenn Close cast recording. I get so into it (the song/scene).
And of course "Rose's Turn" from Gypsy.
Easy. "Sunday" from Sunday in the Park with George

Hairspray, possibly the most uplifting finale ever
JBroadway, you took the words right out of my… keyboard?
Sunday from SITPWG.
Nothing gives me chills like the Cabaret finale.
I'm not sure this counts because it's an opera but every time I have seen Candide I wait for Make Our Garden Grown.
The people talking about SITPWG... are you taking about the end of Act One?

The finale scene of Evita when she's looking down on her funeral is so chilling. Especially what Che says.
I've always loved the very quiet finale of BYE, BYE BIRDIE!
Also SHE LOVES ME.

The song is used at the end of both act 1 and act 2. Have you seen the end of the show? If not, you should. It's brilliant.

How does Cabaret end.... I haven't seen it.
"Sunday" from Sunday in the Park with George
"Finding Wonderland" from WONDERLAND
"Dreamgirls"
"Finale - I Can't Recall" - A Tale of Two Cities
I saw the Original Broadway production but I don't remember that they sing "Sunday" at the end of Act Two as well. I think I've only seen that one production. I still have a vhs of it... and a vhs player... I'll take another look.

Les Miserables
Les Mis always gives me chills, when the ghosts start out so softly and build into the big grand final chorus.
Also "Light" from Next to Normal, "Sunday", and Pippin.
"I don't remember that they sing "Sunday" at the end of Act Two as well."
Well I guaruntee they do, as many others in this board (as well as your vhs) will attest
^CurtainsUpat8, here is the Sunday finale in Act 2.

Cabaret ends with *SPOILER* the Emcee with the rest of the cast in front of a BRIGHT white backdrop representing the holocaust then with flashing lights going dark. It is extremely dramatic.
