STREET SCENE, though calling it a "flop" is dicey. Yes, it failed as an opera on Broadway, but 70 years later, it's still playing opera houses.
GOLDEN APPLE might be my second choice.

I am currently listening to "Seussical" which is probably the most successful flop in licensing. We will see if Shrek overtakes "Seussical" in licensing.
I have to add the cast recording I have heard the most in my life, "Jennie."
My father had this on reel-to-reel and played it almost every Sunday from when I was 4 until 17 when he paid bills and balanced the check book. When I was 17 he bought a cassette player and transferred all his reel-to-reels to cassettes and then rarely played the cassettes.
