Favorite Music from Current/Upcomming Musical

I know this is very subjective, but what musical has your favorite music? 

We're probably going to buy tickets for Something Rotten but just want to explore the options for the best music.

I really love the "I Want" song from WAITRESS in terms of upcoming musicals.

Rotten is pure fun. The score is quite good. Many on this board differ but for better or worse this is my answer to you.

"My Shot", "The Schuyler Sisters", "Satisfied" from Hamilton (actually the whole score is amazing)

 

"Ring of Keys" from Fun Home

 

"You Learn to Live Without" and "Always Starting Over" from If/Then

Something Rotten has a few catchy tunes. I really like "A Musical," "To Thine Own Self," and "I Love The Way." 

I also know I'm in the minority, but I really loved a lot of the songs from Honeymoon in Vegas, and I absolutely love the score. I really love "Anywhere But Here," "Betsy's Getting Married/The Game," "You Made The Wait Worthwhile," "A Little Luck," and the title song. 

Also love "Always Starting Over," and "You Learn to Live Without" from If/Then as Theater_Nerd mentioned. 

"Jenny's Blues" and "What They Never Tell You" from It Shoulda Been You are pretty good as well. 

I guess all the shows (minus Something Rotten) I've mentioned are closed now, but I'd also reccomend Fun Home; beautiful score! Something Rotten is a true crowd pleaser, good choice.

Love Will Come And Find Me Again and Welcome Home from "The Bandstand" are both such beautiful songs, and Laura performs the latter with a Bonnie-esque sizzle that I can't get enough of.

"Willpower"from "something rotten" is terrific. Of course, I love the Phantom score.

Wait for It from Hamilton is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful songs of all time. Even without seeing the show, it's stunning.

The Waitress concept  (album?) is also very good.

I haven't heard much from brand new shows, but I've been loving the concept album released for Waitress! I've listened to some of American Psycho, but I'm not too thrilled with the score as of yet.

The Waitress music sounds excellent. Obviously Hamilton's score is fantastic, and it's a revival, but I love the music in She Loves Me!

Sounds like Waitress has an enjoyable recording.  I did look at it but am not sure it would be my husband's thing.  Think he'll enjoy Something Rotten better.

I know it's Off-Broadway, but I'm hearing great things about Daddy Long Legs, and how beautiful the music is.  Just bought a ticket for late March.  Looking forward to it.

I'm obsessed with the music from Waitress, I love Sara Bareilles! The Daddy Long Legs cast album is amazing- the music is so beautiful.

I am a bit obsessed with "Opening Up" from WAITRESS. Love that song. I have been trying not to listen to HAMILTON but I will play "Satisfied" At least once a week.

For upcoming musicals, the score of Come From Away can't be beat.
