Favorite Not-so-Famous Musicals??

I am a huge fan of those not-so-famous musicals. Anyone have any favorites?
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

I have been curious about that one. I think it will be one of my best buys. I am EXTREMELY partial to Zanna, Don't! And I just bought The Musical of Musicals-the Musical! today and so far am enjoying it.

i think ahrens and flaherty and william finn are great for these types... except for their obvious big hits in ragtime and spelling bee... but i mean, once on this island, a man of no importance, falsettos, a new brain, elegies... all great, and yet not very well known... i cannot wait for the dessa rose double disc!

Sweet smell of success
Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."

As much as L5Y is popular on this board, it's not that well known. At least in my area. That's probably my favorite.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

I have a recording of "Lizzie Borden" with Alison Fraser that I absolutely obsessed over for months - it was supposedly headed for Broadway, but I guess there wasn't a big audience for hatchet murders...

"You won't fight without layers of armor Suit on up and come brace my sword You look back when the pieces are missing Hollowed out hope that no time can restore."

I didn't know there was a musical about Lizzie Borden. That whole "episode" happened in the next town over from me.
