Lots of little things were added, changed, and cut for this production.
Bernadette isn't blonde, so strawberry blonde makes more sense. That line and other small original book lines were added back very late in previews.
There's really no way to make sense of all the book changes throughout the years. Every major production has been different.
"Fell apart" doesn't really connote laughing anymore. I'm not sure it ever did, really.
What about "Meredith Lane," played by Sheila Smith in the original? Right before "Who's That Woman," she utters her one and only line in the show: "This number winded me when I was nineteen."
Sheila was the standby for Alexis Smoth, Yvonne De Carlo and Fifi D'Orsay. After standing by for Angela Lansbury in mame, she went on to achieve the rare distinction of playing both Mame and Vera on Broadway:
Here she is, 38 years after Follies (42 yars after that photo), playing Madame Armfeldt in a Westchester production of A Little night Music:

And why did Chrstine change her name to Sandra? Is that why Phyllis doesn't tell her she never liked her, because she's thrown by the fact Christine went undercover as Sandra?
My favorite Roscoe is the grumpy one who hates almost everything. He makes me laugh.

It was originally Christine Crane and Sandra Donovan and they combined the 2 names to reduce the cast size. Nixed Meredith, Willy WHeeler, Chet Walker, and of course Vincent & Vanessa, and a few other minor roles that only had 1 or 2 lines each and were primarily used to fill out the cast.

You'll be happy to know 1800 people fall apart in the Chicago script.
The 1800 people who fell apart are my favorite characters.

Are Sandra and Dee Dee lesbian lovers? They arrive at the party together and are seen frollicking in the shadows on the catwalk during act 2. I miss Phyllis' line "I didn't know this was supposed to be a costume party".

I've been thinking a lot about this and I realized that my real favorite character is Young Carlotta.
I never realized it was After Eight who started this thread.

Like many threads on BWW, I think this one was taken from the troll.
