Brush Up Your Shakespeare
There was a beautiful song written for Keye Luke to sing to his son in Flower Drum Song called My Best Love but it had to be cut because Luke just couldn't sing it. When City Opera did Cinderella 15 or 20 years ago, they interpolated it as a duet for the Prince and his father. It was gorgeous and I was sad they didn't use it in the current revival.
I can think of quite a few that serve their purpose in their shows but I wouldn't call favorites -- It Would Have Been Wonderful and Poor Jud Is Dead, for example. And there are many in the works of G&S (as well as opera) but that's really beyond most people's interest here I think.
