Maybe this has been posted before, but when I searched there was something like 9000 results, which I didn't feel like wading through.
Mine's the New Amsterdam. It has seen so much since its days showing the Follies and the restoration done by Disney is remarkable. I mean is was vancant and run down from 1937 until 1997! It has such a rich history with tons of underground tunnels and secret passages and the artistry used both on the oil painting and scultures the adorn the house & the lobby are amamzing and the architechture, especially for its time, is phenomenal.

I love the New Amsterdam too, I also like the Majestic and the Gershwin. I don't like the seats at the Gershwin, but I love what Wicked's done to the orchestra pit, with the gear-like things that connect it to the stage. And I like the lobby area.
The Minskoff and Gershwin.
I tend to like the older, classical-styled theatres. The New Amsterdam is my favorite too, both for its lush interior and audience spaces and its amazing history. I also love the Eugene O'Neill and the Music Box. So far, my least favorite in NYC are the Marquis and the Gershwin (WAY to big and unispiring).
On the West Coast, I love the Curran and Geary in SF, as well as the Ahmanson on Los Angeles. Can't stand the Orpheum in SF...like the Gershwin, it's way to wide, and the design looks like a pirate threw up. :)
Studio 54, hands down. It's so unique.
The Palace, simply for sentimental value.... I really like small, intimate spaces, so I'm also a big fan of the Public.
studio 54 and the nederlander. I love how there are plates and bowls on the side panels. I also like the art.
In Seattle we have the beautiful 5th Avenue Theater. It was "once a vaudeville and silent picture palace, the uniquely
beautiful 5th Avenue Theatre features a breathtaking
Chinese interior inspired by the Forbidden City in Beijing." Of all the theaters I've seen, it's up there as one of my favorites.

My favorite is the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. However, if we are talking Broadway, I'd have to say the Majestic

Oh, yeah, I like the Nederlander too. It's so different from the Gershwin... smaller.
Nederlander and the Gershwin. Good memories.
I didn't like the Eugene O'Neil theater. I just have this memory of being ushered from the street, straight into the theater. Does it have a lobby? Maybe I'm just imaging things?
Minskoff, Studio 54, American Airlines, Virginia
I love the Opera House at the Kennedy Center, but as far as Broadway is concerned, The New Amsterdam will always have a special place in my heart. I got a great book on it's history for Christmas.

I believe my favorites would be the Shubert and the Virginia. Two special theatres that house(d) two very special shows to me. My least favorite is the Hirshfeld. (sp?) It's just boring inside. Updated On: 1/3/05 at 09:06 PM

Comfort-Mariott Marquis
Beauty- Al Hirshfeld
Overall-Colonial Theatre (Boston)
finally saw the NEW AMSTERDAM in november. gorgeous!
For some reason, my favorite theatre is the Biltmore. I love the simple charm of the theatre -- it's small but still old-fashioned and beautiful, and Manhattan Theatre Club did a more than incredible job restoring it...I just love being in that theatre -- so comfortable and pleasant and positive and gorgeous.
Least favorite -- MARQUIS and GERSHWIN. Egh contemporary...
Def. the Gershwin
Definitely the Lyceum. (I also prefer the smaller, classically decorated theatres.) Also I believe it's haunted by all those wonderful folks who's portraits are hanging on the walls.

My sentimental favorite is the Majestic Theatre.
I also have a fondness for the Music Box and the Belasco theatres.
(I dislike the "moderness" of the Marquis, Minskoff and Gershwin theaters.)
Def. Dodger Stages.... and then prob. the Gershwin and the Nederlander, maybe the Palace too
