On my Own, is a showstopper, but probably overdone
also
The Millers Son from A Little Night Music, it's probably not as popular......try that, I LOVE IT!!!!!!

With One Look - SUNSET BOULEVARD
How Many Tears - MARTIN GUERRE
Gifts Of Love - THE BAKER'S WIFE
Let's Play A Love Scene - FAME ON 42ND STREET
If you are an "Emma" from J&H, why not try "In His Eyes" as a solo instead of a duet. Definitely a showstopper. Or "It's Only Love" from Scarlet Pimpernel.
A very beautiful song with a great high-note ending is Will He Like Me from She Loves Me. From the same show, and flashier, is, of course, Ice Cream.

I vote Ice Cream too. Age & audience appropriate, fun to sing and act, and always gets the audience laughing with you.
I'm Telling You Im not Going from Dreamgirls is an incredible showstopper.
If you want a really good showstopper that nobody at your camp would ever think of doing, try "Lonely House" from STREET SCENE.
Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions! I think I'm going to stick with "Unusual Way," but I was considering "Ice Cream" for a while.
I think a really fun one could be "I Have Confidence" from The Sound of Music.

my fair lady. a lot of these people are not listening to what you want. unusual way is an excellent pick.. ice cream and lonely house would be fine back-ups too.
Your voice sounds a lot like mine and if that is the case, Unusual Way is fantastic. Nine is amazing. I used to cry everytime I heard that song.
I'm actually singing "In His Eyes" in a voice recital with another girl, but I'm singing Linda Eder's part though.

I love "Unusual Way" as well.
"Show Me" from My Fair Lady is another good one.
"Is It Really Me?" from 110 in the Shade is beautiful but not necessarily a showstopper.

another 110 in the shade is "simple little things".. but that show isn't really about showstoppers. a better bet would be the same composers' "much more" from the fantasticks. again, not a real showstopper, but if done right it's compelling.
I was in My Fair Lady at my camp last summer, but they cut "Show Me."

"Show Me" is a great song but you'd better have a damn good pianist.
Another good, somewhat obscure song that could be a showstopper is "I Never Said I Love You" from DEAR WORLD.
