Fewer discounts Thanksgiving week?

I’m looking at tickets for a NYC trip the week of Thanksgiving. I know it’s early for shows to be posted on TDF, but I notice that a lot of Audience Rewards redemptions are blacked out that week. Should I assume there will similarly be less availability for TDF, rush, and other discount channels? Thanks!

If it matters, shows I’m looking at include The Prom, School Girls, Network (for which I’m not expecting to find a discount), Once on This Island, Waverly Gallery, Fabulation, and Torch Song.

Yes, it's harder to find a deal during Thanksgiving.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I guess what I’m asking is, is it worth waiting to see if seats pop up (which is what I’d usually do) or should I bite the bullet and buy tickets now? Is there any chance of TDF for any of those shows if I wait?

None of us have crystal balls. Thanksgiving is a busy time in NYC for tourists. They come in for the parade and to shop the after Thanksgiving sales. Most shows limit or eliminate discounts that week cause they don't need to offer them. Will some be on TDF? Maybe. But much less likely than other weeks. Is it worth it for you to take the chance and run the risk of not getting to see them? Only you can answer that. Fabulation is at Signature. Their tickets are all $35 for the initial part of the run. You're not going to get a better deal at TDF if they even put them on there which I don't think they do. So go to their website and see what they have left. As far as the rest... you can read the weekly grosses as easily as we can. If a show is not selling well, it's more likely to be on TDF even during Thanksgiving. But even shows not selling well do good business during those weeks. Do you want to risk it in the hopes of getting a cheap ticket? That's up to you.

I can't imagine those shows (except Network and possibly OOTI) selling to capacity for Thanksgiving, so I'd wait on those. That said, OOTI is offering discounts that week.

Instead of making a new thread, I will just ask my question here, how packed do rush lines usually get over thanksgiving?
