Hello all, was wondering if I could get some advice. I'm going for my first Broadway trip this upcoming Labor Day weekend, and other than one pre-bought show (Aladdin for the Sunday matinee), I'm going to be relying on Rush or TKTS for all other shows (while also entering the Hamilton lotteries just in case, heh). Of course, I have general plans already for if I don't win the lotteries for most slots, except for one- the evening performance for Sunday, September 4th. From looking at the schedule, I see a lot of shows aren't showing in the evening that day, and of those that are playing, the only ones that are left for consideration are Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, and Kinky Boots (All others are either planned to be seen already in other slots, have already been seen professionally in the same format, will be seen on tour soon, or don't appeal to me at all in the first place).
Les Mis is one I've seen before, but in London last year - I understand the current US production is different, and also that this specific performance would be their very last one, so I might consider it. Though I'm not sure if Rushing/TKTS will be as likely since it is the closing performance.
Fiddler I'm familiar with and have "seen", but only as a high school performance. I would be interested in seeing it done professionally and have heard good things about the current run, and see that this one is closing at the end of the year, so I wouldn't be able to see it on a possible future visit next year or so.
Kinky Boots is the one I haven't seen at all (though I have listened to the cast recording). But it's also the one that's still open run - would it likely still be open next year? also it's the one that oesn't have Rush as an option, so I'd have to go by TKTS for it.
That's the current standings of the three, I haven't yet chosen, so I'd like opinions. Which of these three would be the most worth it to see? (Also if it helps in trying to give variety for a "First Broadway Trip", the shows I will most likely already be seeing that rip will be Waitress, Color Purple, Matilda, Aladdin, and School of Rock. Unless I win a lottery for Hamilton of course, in which case I'll be seeing that in place of either Waitress or Matilda - haven't decided which.)
Sorry for the length of the post, but I saw most other questions usually end up with responses of what else the person has in terms of consideration. Any help would be appreciated! In your opinion which of these three would be most worthwhile to see?
