Finally saw WICKED!

So... I finally got to see Wicked on Friday, June 11. Now, I have been going to see Broadway shows since I was in elementary school. In fact, I have seen over 40 shows. But rarely have I ever so blown away as I was the two days ago. (And, no. I am NOT easily amused, by the way... I was rather underwhelmed by HAIRSPRAY.)

Anyway, it was PHENOMENAL!!! Idina and Kristin gave two of the most endearing, unique, and flawless performances I have ever seen.

Joel Grey was absent, but Sean McCourt was a pleasure to watch in the role. Carole Shelley was deliciously evil as Mme. Morrible, Norbert Leo Butz was exceedingly charming as Fiyero, Michelle Federer was brilliantly selfish as Nessarose, William Youmans was empathetic and tragic as the ill-fated Dr. Dillamond, and Chris Fitzgerald was frighteningly mean as Boq.

If you haven't seen the show, go see it. Now.

TO ALL OF THE WICKED-HATERS...

You guys need to stop bothering people who post things about the show. I loved this show, and will post whatever I damn well please. If you intend to give me problems about this post, you are more than welcome to take it up with my fist. No, not really... But seriously, has it ever occured to you that people might actually LIKE this show? Everyone is entitled to a freedom of speech and opinion.

I'm a very nice guy, but I can't stand it when arrogant people don't respect the thoughts of others.

Oh, I completely understand. My question is... why is it such a big deal? If people don't like it, they can either:

1) Ignore the post
or
2) Go to a different message board altogether.

I added the number of shows I've seen to increase the credibility of my opinion. For example, someone posted that HAIRSPRAY was the best show they had ever seen... when they had only seen three.

I understand where you are coming from. But, like I said, if someone loves something so much, they are more than welcome to post whatever they want and whenever they want. Not that I am one of those people, but I do not condone such behavior towards fans of a Broadway show.

Whether the haters like it or not, WICKED is popular (no pun intended). If this is a major problem, the manager of the board has it in his power to do something about it. I'm sure a lot of people are still waiting...

Perhaps someone should make a thread entitled "The WICKED thread" ? That way, all the WICKED fans have somewhere to post whatever, and it won't flood the board with WICKED threads and get everyone riled up.

Does anyone still carry change in their pockets, or wear steel-toe shoes? I can't remember ever reading of so many people being blown away? Can't you weigh yourself down some?

And if so many are blown, where do they all land?

Ya know, there are a million other repeats on this board. You don't seem to be bothered by them. She or he is right, why don't you just skip over the thread, if it says Wicked on it it obviously is about Wicked and is going to bother you. Next time ignore it and go read something else. Anyone with a little common sense would be able to handle that. If anyone is annoying its you people who can't stand the thought of Wicked getting any praise that keep coming on the Wicked threads and posting this crap.

You go Broadway86! Wicked WAS great, and deserves a long run! People should not be massacered for posting an opinion! No one's annoying Avenue Q!! (Even though it was awful)! Leave people who like Wicked alone!!! Are they bothering you!? If so, I'd be more than happy to hear how and why.

yea wicked is such a wonderful play. the people on this site are very mean and anti wicked. read my response to speak ill of wicked! oh by the way, dont try making an anti Aveue Q thread because they automatically delkete it leaving their posts on their hatred for Wicked!

I'm glad you liked the show! It is a lot of fun. I know people are irritated that there are so many posts about it - but don't worry! Soon a new show will come in and do the same thing. I don't see why people are so upset about it. I think thats the sign of a really powerful show (note I didn't say GOOD or BAD) - when it creates such a controversy. I'd much rather be involved in a show people talk about than one that no one cares enough about to even have an opinion!
