There are videos and interviews online of the show at www.laughingplace.com! check it out!
it looks...pretty good
the videos are better than what i expected.
Now we know what 'Little Mermaid' is gonna look like.
Very cool videos
I'm actually impressed!
my guess is that in Little Mermaid they'll be doing "Sebastian" and "Flounder" with puppets and that...
No way.
That would mean that they put absolutely no creative thought into it. If they can find a way to make a man into a clock and a woman into a teapot...they'll find a way to do Sebastian and Flounder without puppets.

I really like Crush's song!
:)
Although i feel there is too much going on, I am impressed.
I wore the Flounder costume at the park. You can hardly walk in it. It was the worst.
"Can you 'conga' in that?"
"Crap NO, I can barely stand!"

The music sounds like it came straight from Avenue Q
Really? Hmm...I wonder if they have the same composer....
Looks good, definitley gonna see it when I'm at Disney next year.

CapnHook- I know they have the same composer but I just didn't expect them to sound THAT similar
Oh, please! You can see the actors!
Yes, and?
Should they perform a live show from backstage or use recorded voices?
It's called 'the suspension of disbelief'.
It looks like a really cute show! Wonder how heavy some of those puppets are to carry around...
I saw this a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed it. It's not great, but it was a lot of fun. Most of the scenic design is lifted straight from the Lion King (for example, the guy on the bicycle). The actors are all good, but the woman who played Dory was exceptional. I was expecting an Ellen impersonation, and that's not what I got.
Enjoyable? Certainly. Is it the highly innovative sort of theater Disney proclaimed it to be? Not if you've seen The Lion King.
TheatreDiva,
I am quite certain that Little Mermaid won't look that much like this. With George Tsypin as a designer it will be a lot more epic and surreal, and use a lot of interesting materials and textures. I cannot even tell you how excited I am to see his designs.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the best...
