I will be in the city for spring break in March and I was wondering if any one had any idea if First Date will still be running? I don't know much about gauging this sort of thing. Thank you (:

I would be surprised if it was still running, but stranger things have happened.

It's impossible to predict ... in July a lot of people on this forum predicted the show wouldn't last through the previews ... but at the weekend they celebrated 100 shows, so I think it's anyone's guess.
If you've a chance to see it, go for it. I really enjoyed it.

I know everyone is going to shoot me down for saying this, but I weirdly think First Date is either breaking even or making money week to week. I am basing this by comparing running costs to Next to Normal, which is a similarly sized production which were know to be around $250,000 a week. Although I would assume First Date's nut is a little bit larger based on inflation and having a slightly larger cast and band, and having a marquee name with Zachary Levi. So based on that I would guess the running cost is about $300,000-$400,000 a week. So if the show keeps running at its current levels it will likely be open through March.

In a recent interview, Zachary Levi admitted his contract runs through early January, but he has the option to extend it and hadn't decided on whether he would or not.

I'd be shocked that they would continue the show if he decided to not renew his contract. No idea when he will make that decision.

Levi was on The Talk promoting Thor, but First Date wasn't mentioned at all. He even talked about performing on the Oscars, but didn't even bring up Broadway at all. Seems like they've already given up on this? We'll see if he mentions it tonight on Watch What Happens Live.

^But that could be because he was prohibited from talking about any projects other than THOR.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

All of his appearances this week have been Thor-related. You never know if they were supposed to talk about First Date, but the producers dropped it because they thought it wasn't of "national" interest.

The Talk segment was very short.
