Hi,
I have been to NYC several times by myself and with friends, but this will be the first time I will be in the BIG APPLE with my own family. We plan to see the following productions:
Baby It's You
Sister Act
How To Succeed...
War Horse (which I want to see if I have the time)
My trip is from March 31st-April 3rd..
Can anyone else make suggestions on what to see? The only real shows that are confirmed are Baby It's You (My mom's birthday gift) and How To Succeed (because we all want to see that), the others are just shows we are thinking about, so suggestions will be very helpful.
Thanks!

I would skip Addams family. Better shows to see. I would see Wicked, Jersey Boys, Lion King, possibly American Idiot.
We have already seen Wicked, Jersey Boys, Lion King and American Idiot...I saw AI at Berkeley Rep when it premiered here in CA and my parents have already seen the touring productions of the other shows many times.
BILLY ELLIOT
SISTER ACT, HOW TO SUCCEED, and WAR HORSE are excellent choices. BABY IT'S YOU...that's an uncertainty, and I wouldn't gamble on it.
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, LOMBARDI, or THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ERNEST are good choices.
Skip ADDAMS FAMILY. BILLY ELLIOT is a great show but I hear it's not in too good of shape.

Billy Elliot is a pretty good choice for families...I saw it with my entire family and everyone loved it, despite them all having very different tastes.
Catch Me If You Can also seems like it'll be good for lots of different types of people, and it's a lot of fun. Sister Act is also a very good choice.
Catch Me and Sister Act are good recommendations.

Also, I re-read your original post, and it seems like it's just you and your parents and not a lot of other kids. I would definitely recommend Catch Me most. If I were going with my parents, that is definitely what I'd take them to see.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN should be a great musical option. ADDAMS FAMILY is fun even if the reviews were bad. I took my parents when they came to town and they loved it more than most things I've taken them to over the last few years.
If you want another straight play that everyone in the family can enjoy,(you already have WAR HORSE on the list) I would suggest BORN YESTERDAY or BLUE LEAVES. Not sure what the productions will be like but both have good script that are funny, with great roles, and great casts, so I would hope they will both be entertaining.
Thanks guys. Let me clear some things up, all of us are over 30 (LOL)...so more suggestions fire away...

What types of shows do your parents usually enjoy?
I would recommend American Idiot for my mom who loves rock musicals like RENT and Spring Awakening, but my dad would hate that sort of thing.
I said Catch Me mainly because it's pretty fun in general, but is there a specific type of show your parents enjoy most?
Book of Mormon? (Not for everyone, but I've heard really good things.)
Unless you're comfortable sitting next to your parents while hearing jokes about foreskins and watching ping pong balls being shot out of various body orifices, I'd stay away from PRISCILLA

I definitely recommend War Horse.
Maybe Jerusalem? It will be just starting previews while you are there, but I've heard wonderful things about Mark Rylance's performance in London.
Gotta see "Avenue Q" if you haven't.
