Albert Verlinde en Roel Vente hebben de rechten verworven van de musicalkomedie 'Legally Blonde'. Die is in het seizoen 2010-2011 in verschillende Nederlandse theaters te zien, zo heeft theaterbedrijf V&V Entertainment dinsdag bekendgemaakt. Nederland is, na de VS en Engeland, het derde land dat de musical op de planken brengt.

De musical, die een succes was op Broadway, is gebaseerd op de Amerikaanse speelfilm 'Legally Blonde'. In de komedie, die in 2001 uitkwam, nam actrice Reese Whiterspoon de hoofdrol voor haar rekening.

De film gaat over de rijke Elle Woods die gedumpt wordt door haar vriendje, die niet alleen schoonheid maar ook 'hersens' in een vriendin zoekt. De rijke blondine besluit rechten te gaan studeren aan de Universiteit van Harvard en wordt daar wordt verliefd op een professor.
