Anyone going tonight? Wish I could be there but I can't wait to hear about it!

I wish I could go. I hope people come back with detailed reports :)
Last night was so much fun. Michael Lavine knows everything... he had a story about every song/show. The highlight of the evening was when Julia Murney rocked the house with a song that was cut from The Wild Party. The break from Wicked has done her voice good! Also, Marty Thomas was great - can't wait to see him and Julia in Saved. I also really loved the beautiful song from "Was" (which I guess there is a book that the show was based on that is supposed to be really good). Lea Michele and Landon Beard sang a cute song and Anna Ty Bergman was very good. Also, loved the very hot quartet of guys singing a song from Oh Brother. The evening also included a raffle of some gay porn...... and some flop posters. They auctioned off a signed Rags poster for $100 and a Carrie poster for $300. Overall, very fun evening at Joe's Pub!
Song List (sorry for any mistakes):
My life is in boxes - John Tartaglia
Opening number from High Fidelity - Marty Thomas
Cut song from Chicago - Michael Lavine
She Is - Max von Essen
Angel from Angel - Wayne Wilcox
Home Blues from Showgirl - Burke Moses
Family Affair - David Burtka
Nothing better than Love from Arms and the Girl - Natalie Venetia Belcon
Cut song from Avenue Q about a toilet - John Tartaglia
Reds - Michael Lavine
Carnival in Flanders medley - Jennifer Hope Wills
Was - Jamie McGonnigal
Arthur - Randy Redd
Slightly perfect from Are you with it? - Landon Beard and Lea Michele
Cut song from In the Heights - Anna Ty Bergman
Song from Oh Brother - Max von Essen, Wayne Wilcox, Randy Redd, and David Burtka
Cut song from The Wild Party - Julia Murney
What did Anthony Rapp sing?
Ah, then that's why he wasn't in the post.
He was listed in one of the Playbill articles.
Yeah, I was kind of upset that he didn't show...but Julia Murney was so fantastic. She blew the roof off the place. I'm glad Michael Lavine put her at the end of the concert. Overall, a fantastic evening. I'm so glad I went.
Hey there,
Glad you had fun last night! We had a lot of fun putting it together.
It's always really difficult when performers back out because of illness or other commitments, etc. And certainly a challenge at the last minute (which is why I have a lot of compassion for the organizers of tonight's Sondheim concert).
Here's the list that we had backstage...bwayrocks got it mostly right which is more than I could say for myself last night!

Weren't they supposed to sing something from "Carrie"? It was advertised as such on playbill.
Michael Levine? or Michael Lavine?
there is a difference and I had no idea that THE "sheet music man" was a performer! if I am thinking of the same wonderful man...

Jamie - it was a fantastic evening. The raffle for the special movies was a highlight
Marty and Julia left me speechless... not easy feat!
Looking forward to the next McBenefit.
Glad you enjoyed it!
After seeing Jennifer Hope Wills Singing "Here’s That Rainy Day," I really hope she stays around and becomes a star!
