Posted: 8/5/11 at 12:16amI know it hasn't even started previews yet, but I'm seeing it on tuesday and I wanted to know if people think the stars will come out after, based on past stage door experiences or the run at the kennedy center.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 12:52amWhen i saw the show in DC Peters, Maxwell, Lavin and Paige all came out and signed for everybody after the show. as did everybody else in the cast except for the two male leads. i know that it will be WAY more crowded when it hits broadway so i don't know how it will work then.

Peters has come out after other shows I've seen her in, and was always polite and gracious.
Where is the Marquis stage door?

Posted: 8/5/11 at 5:37amI'm a little surprised Danny Burstein did not come out in DC. I saw South Pacific and Women on the Verge multiple times and also saw him in Drowsy Chaperone, and I don't remember him ever NOT coming out. I'm wondering if he had something to do on that particular day.

Danny Burstein, Terri White, Susan Watson, and Elaine Paige signed after the Wednesday matinee I attended in DC.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 8:42amThe Marquis stage door is on 45th street, opposite the Minskoff. That said, it being a hotel, there are many exits through which someone can leave if they want to slip away unnoticed.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 9:02amDanny Burstein is one of the sweetest shyest men in the world, and the whole stage door thing tends to embarass him.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 10:18amI believe the only actor who consistently did not come out was Ron Raines.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 12:15pmI saw a Sunday matinee and the only one who did not come out was Ron Raines. Everyone else was extremely gracious and signed for those waiting.

If I can't have the gorgeous original Byrd poster signed by the original cast, I might as well have the very lovely new poster signed by this company-- so, for a change, I plan on stagedooring on Sunday. Sometimes you just have to.
I should ask, seeing that the poster artwork is set, and that they sold them in DC, they will have windowcards on Sunday, won't they? Maybe? If anyone "in the know" knows, let me know. (I said "know" a lot there.)

The marquis stage door is across from Junior's.... now I want cheesecake....
I saw it in DC and everyone came out except the two male leads... I don't know where else they would have gone out from though... unless they were just quick about exiting. Bernadette is always nice and signs.... but usually doesn't wait around to sign EVERYBODY's playbill and only signs a few in the front when it's really crowded. When she played the Marquis with annie get your gun.... the crowds were so huge that she often just picked one or two little kids to take pictures with before jetting off.... we'll see I guess... keep us updated.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 1:02pm(FYI -- there's a second exit from the Eisenhower Theater's backstage area that leads to the Hall of States, allowing actors to bypass the stage door. After matinees on two-performance days, some of the actors would take that exit and rush quickly back to the hotel.)

Posted: 8/5/11 at 1:46pmIt will be super easy for them to get out the Marquis without going through the stage door. It will be interesting to see of any of them actually do that.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 5:13pmSorry to sound like a clueless tourist, but how do you get to the stage door after you leave the theatre? I'm not too familiar with the area. It's been too long since I've been to NYC.

Posted: 8/5/11 at 8:56pmIt's different for the Marquis than most theatres. When you get out of the hotel, you'll probably be in an alley between 45th and 46th Streets. Head to the corner of 45th and Broadway (when you leave the theatre, go in the direction of Shubert Alley, and then turn left near Junior's and the Minskoff).

Posted: 8/7/11 at 9:15pmI was. Pretty much all of them signed and posed for pictures, though it was a bit of a scramble for Bernadette as she was being led to her car!

I didn't wait at the stage door, but was waiting for someone to pick me up, so was standing by it. It was a mad house at the stage door!! Packed with people. I waited at the stage door each time I saw it in DC (the most I ever saw was maybe a dozen people, other times as few as three. The last show had a big crowd though).
People were definitely coming out judging from all the applause, though I couldn't see over everyone to see who
Bernadette isn't normally one to dodge the stage door, if that's your concern...

Posted: 8/8/11 at 9:55amStagedoored yesterday with much success! I was seated towards the back of the orchestra so I was one of the first people to get to the stagedoor. There was a lot of people. A lot. But everyone was really gracious and trying to sign for everyone.

Posted: 8/10/11 at 1:14amI just saw it on tuesday night and everyone signed, except elaine paige, who walked straight to her car. Bernadette signed everyone playbills/posters and took pictures.
