So the rumor that Zac Efron will be starring in the musical version of Footloose has been going on for a while, but now that HSM3 did so well it is now a sure thing. There hasn't been too much info released however, one online news source says that it will not be a movie version of the musical but a remake of the movie with new and old music added but it's still dubbed as a musical, so I'm kinda confused, does anybody have any inside info on this? If its a movie version of the musical I'm excited but if it's just a remake of the original then whats the point?
This has been spoke about on here before.
Your right its not the musical version but a remake of the film with news songs also been added in, and its not a rumor, Zac confirmed it at the UK premier of HSM3

i guess my point is, the musical is the movie with the movie songs plus new songs added in, and they don't sing in the original so how is it not the musical.
This has been discussed.

And they have put a rush on it...they want to strike while his fire is hot.
oops...again
They haven't said it is a musical, all they have said is that its a remake of the original film (which was not a musical in the conventional of terms) and it will retain some songs from the film as well as new songs added
All I care is that Bonnie Tyler singing "Holding Out for a Hero" (in its original Jim Steinman produced recording) is in there. That programmed style is starting to slink back into music, and I really want to see something in a remake that isn't screwed up.
