BobbyBubby -
I thought you would has be as excited about this as me! I logged on to Michael Rupert's MySpace page this morning. I have been doing it everyday since he put up a track on Thanksgiving and then changed it the next day! But, he posted "The Plaza Song" with him and Carolee from the Paper Mill BABY. Check it out...It's so funny!!!

You're welcome! Now if Carolee would get her own MySpace page!

if they have this song recorded perhaps they have that whole production recorded. i need it!! that's all i'm saying. michael, carolee, lachanze, norm, chad, and i forget the name of chad's girlfriend in the show. i've been wanting thing (or better yet, for a revival to come along, with that ccasting intact.) forever!
hey, a boy can dream.

I have a feeling they do, as Michael posted him and Carolee doing "And What If We Had Loved Like That" earlier on his MySpace page.

Can you download those tracks or just listen to them?

I agree it is very frustrating. Both FOLLIES & CHILDREN OF EDEN where recorded when down out at Paper Mill...I wish BABY could of as well.
Bobby - I don't think you can download them...I don't "officially" belong to MySpace. But, maybe if you are a member you can download it. I don't know though.
Some bands let you download their tracks, but you have to be logged in on MySpace to do it. But, the tracks in question here you can just play, you can't download them : (

Moeisha McGill.
Lizzie, aka "Chad's girlfriend," was played by Moeisha McGill.
And don't even get me started on that production. So good. I'm still sad I only got to see it twice.
I wish they had recorded it, too.
I thought McGill was the one weak link of the production.

I agree Bobby, I think Moesha was the weak link, so to speak. But I still enjoyed the production, regardless. I wonder if the Original Broadway Cast had been out of print, they maybe this one had been recorded. I do appreciate Michael Rupert posting some tracks for me to hear though!
I'd pay top $$$ just for a cd of Carolee singing Patterns. Ugh.
Though I didn' tlike the way the director staged that number. She's usually on a bed for the number, but he had her on a park bench, which for some reason wasn't as powerful as her sitting on a bed for the song.

She was amazing! I loved her "Patterns"...I about died when I heard "And What If We Had Loved Like That" on the site! The two of them singing together is pure heaven! That song totally blew me away in the theater!
Me too. They are a great combo. I've admired Rupert for years. Glad he's posting such great stuff.
Now if we could only get him to post all of Mail...I'm dying to hear that show. My friend goes on and on about how much he loved it, but everyone else I've talked to thought it was crap.
I though MAIL was a lot of fun. It was a huge hit out in Pasadena, but never really found it's audience on Broadway. Plus, the critics killed it. Much like they did with REEFER MADNESS a few years back, which was also a big hit on the West Coast. Go figure.
Bobby, don't know if you are in NYC, but if you ever get a chance to meet Mr. Rupert or his partner, they are pretty good about giving fans stuff. I got a MAIL and a SWEET CHARITY (this was when it was out-of-print) from his partner.
I'm sadly not in Nyc. I was in NYC in May and saw Thrill Me, but it was first preview and I didn't want to bother him while working.
I never met him either, I would probably just stand there and not be able to speak. But, a friend worked with his partner, who was such a sweetheart, and gave me a CD of SWEET CHARITY which I had been after and as a bonus surprise the CD of MAIL. He used to work at Footlight part-time but I don't know if he's there now it's an online store.
I'd kill for a copy of Mail...Grr...

I like the song from it on the website. I remember reading some of the script at Samuel French when I was a temp there. But only heard that song and the other song that was posted with Brian Stokes Mitchell.
MAIL was also the Broadway debut of the wonderful Michelle Pawk.
As well as the Broadway debuts of Mary Bond Davis and Brian "Stokes" Mitchell!
