Wait, Priest, you're not really a priest? All those alter boy jokes...wasted.

you didn't just ask that?

Stick to Priest chose his name because it is a line out of the Epitome of Musical Theatre, Sweeney Todd. In the Act One Finale Mrs. Lovett and Sweeney sing about the way people would taste like a particualr attribute of their occupation. One of the lines in "A Little Priest" is:
"Beadle isn't bad till you smell it,
And notice how well it's been greased,
Stick to Priest."

Also random: Was the hype this bad when Rent first opened?

The DVD of the First National tour with George Hearn and Angela Lansbury or the DVd of the 2000 concert with George Hearn and Patii Lupone?

Both are beyond perfection.

"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

The RENT hype was big, but different b/c in 1996 the Internet was still relatively new and they're weren't millions upon millions of fan sites and message boards--I mean, some were out there, but it's a totally different world.

not to be rude, but I'd just like to add that if the wiz-o-maniacs started threads examining the thematic ideas presented by the show, or how the use of metaphor and figurative language leaves the audience with a particular message ... I'd just laugh even harder....

Too many disrespectful fans

I've never posted in a WICKED thread but for some reason I feel compelled to respond to this one. First let me say that NO type of obsession is good.
But I really want to take issue with this comment, "This message board is for people who believe the way I do, and would like to discuss it, so if you're going to abuse it, please go terrorize another board. " What? Seriously, what? I don't know if you were attempting a joke or actually believe this, either way it showcases one of the irritating features I've noticed in the *obsessive* WICKED fans - a lack of respect for others on this board. From what I've gathered there are more than enough WICKED based message boards out there. For anyone to newly join then proclaim what course this board or thread should travel galls me.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

I believe what the nut-case was trying to say is that "This THREAD is for people who believe the way I do, and would like to discuss it"... not the entire message board... but, honestly, why?
