JRB, it is true we don't know all the facts and terms contained in Donna Murphy"s contract. Rathnait, as I wrote before, you can't possibly make assumptions about the legal/moral obligations connected to such a complicated deal between an artist, producer, Equity Union, director, etc., etc. Your statements are suggesting certain black or white actions without being aware of the grey areas and nuances. Your tone comes across as confrontational, for some reason(?)

Most if not all legal, binding contracts include penalties for breach of contract! Lawyers are very skilled at locking someone in to the performance of a contract with very few options, if any, for backing out. Anyway, the bottom line is we don't know very much about what happened with Donna. Obviously, IssaMe and JRB have more information but they only give it to us in bits and pieces and that's not too cool either... what's the point of playing this game? so there, I've said my piece.

I have to add my two cents.... First off, it amazes me how this woman's absences can create such a long thread. I mean Ericco from Dracula has been out on vocal rest for some time and her post only has 7 replies..and then we have Donna with what...84??
And as for the dribs and drabs of information. I'm not sure what Issame meant to do with his post...to stop the Donna bashing or just start it up again. I'm sure the note that Donna wrote was to the company and was not meant to be shared here with the public. He did have the decency though, to not disclose the problem. I feel that it's Donna's responsbility to share what is happening with the public and Donna's alone.
And yes, I do feel bad for the ticket buyers who are not getting see her. But I do not feel that she should just back out...shouldn't she have a chance to recover and try to do her last shows? The producers let her out of her contract early....she should at least be given the chance to come back and perform a show she loves.
I have no idea if Donna will come back but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will. I'll continue to keep checking the understudy board everyday...because she is worth it!

Yeah, I enjoy Donna onstage too and dug her in the role. But this backstage drama - o la LA! What IS the diva doing? What complaints did she have listed in her 'note'? C'mon. Surely some of you must know the backstage dish. How did she specifically list that she was egregiously wronged?
