Forbes: FROZEN and scalpers

This show isn’t going to run for years

Scalpers are definitely taking a hit but *not* the box office. The scalpers already paid Disney full price for those tickets but then resold them to stubhub customers at a loss. Good for us but sucks to be them.

From Disney's point of view, they still got full price money for those tickets as clearly seen in the Broadway grosses.

As for the health of the show, I think people will still continue to buy tickets to see Frozen similar to how people are still seeing Aladdin. It all depends on the price point from the box office. Can Disney still sell $399 premium ticket prices a year from now for Frozen? Probably not but can they sell those seats for $199? Probably. In addition, school groups would certainly pay discounted prices to see Frozen from St. James's theater's balcony. It'll have a healthy run.

wow....just looked at StubHub......shocking. You can sit in the mezz for almost any performance in the coming weeks for $65 bucks. Center orch tonight for just over $100. Does not bode well.

Why? People who wanted to see the show but didn't like the available seats, or couldn't get any good ones, will now be able to buy them again... the lack of a premium market doesn't mean there isn't a regular market.
