They were posted today on the musical's music MySpace. The official site for the Broadway production is also up.

The tracks sound excellent. Can't wait for this recording to be released and for previews to start. Excellent way to the musical season to start.

"Maybe I don't get it, but those songs sound horrible..."

Did you see the show during its run at the Public? You've written it off as "emo/punk ****" in that other thread. That's not really a fair assessment.

I hope the cast album reflects the tongue-in-cheek/parody nature of the show. I composer isn't an emo/punk writer. He's sending up the genre and its idiosyncrasies.

Billing the show as an emo-rock musical is also misleading. But it's kind of a hard show to accurately sum up in an advertisement quote.

I've been telling friends not to get the cast album before seeing the show.

I heard a couple of songs before seeing the show and honestly wasn't looking forward to it. I took a chance and saw it at the 530 show on a Sunday during my NYC trip in May. It turned out to be hands down the best show out of 9 that I saw. And it has been in my head for months.

I haven't. I'm not in the city so it makes it hard to see shows. The clips I've seen & the music just gives me that feel.

Maybe if I saw it I'd have a change of heart like Mildred.

Based on your sense of humor TheatreFan, I think you'd really like it if you saw it as a whole. Hopefully it'll have a big life and you'll get to see it. Four Full Tracks from the Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson OBC

But I am worried that the humor will be lost when short sound bites of the show get out there.

This sounds awesome! And regarding the music, I think the emphasis is being put on the lyrics and wit, not necessarily high quality music (though it sounds pretty high quality to me)

Out of context, the songs make absolutely no sense and just read as generic emo songs. This is undoubtedly a cast album that needs your memories of the show to be fully appreciated. The show as a whole (score, book, tech, performances) works so brilliantly, and each element works in tandem with the rest, that I think it's impossible to assess one element individually. It's like judging a gear outside of a clock.
