I think it would work very well; more so than Dracula. If only, if only...
but I doubt it.

You better take something before you listen, cuz' I think you'll find it quite good. I mean, I liked DRACULA... but this is the kind of stuff I'd like to see on Broadway...

Posted: 11/3/04 at 7:51pmI SAW Frankenstein at the NYMF. It was bloody awful. A real bore. Is this thread a joke? It truly is a musical, and the director has high hopes for it (so he told me, poor misinformed fellow.)

It's a joke and the songs were meant to improve the show
I think Brooks is!

I dunno... I think "The Coming of The Dawn" is one of the best songs I've heard ever...

Poor misinformed CATS
I wish YOU had to sit through Frankenstein with me! It was sheer torture. I went as a joke-why not if they can do Dracula, right? But the music doesn't advance the story and the songs are not melodic--they're quite uninventive. It would need a LOT of work to end up back on a New York stage. Why not try a theater in Transylvania?

Posted: 11/3/04 at 8:15pmYoung Frankenstein is not the story of Frankenstein, its about Dr Frankenstein's nephew (I believe that's the relation), Dr Frankenstein (pronounced Frahnkensteen). And yes, Mel Brooks is working on it, and last I heard Cheno wanted the female lead (whose name escapes me at the moment)

There are at least three 'Frankenstein' musicals -- one premiered in Canada somewhere about six years back too.
They're all bad.

Yes, Madeline Kahn's role.
After much searching lol, I included the link. Makes sense Wildhorn is writing on one, you just have to wonder if it'll get producers... actually, of course he will, afterall, he got one for Drakula, even after Scarlet Pimpernel...

Actually, it's about the Doctor's grandson.
As for Cheno -- is it the role of Frankenstein's fiance (the role played by Madeline Kahn), who was a bit on the repressed side, or the role of Inga, played by Terri Garr that she wants?
Never mind I saw your link... but I would have thought she would be good in the role of Inga.

NO! Why must you bring SP into this. Sure it arrived on Broadway early, but it matured into a wonderful show.
