re: Freddy Benson Replacement Ideas

yeah, where did that come from?
i personally would not want jack black to do it, cuz as someone said before, i think he would take it tooo over the top.
christian borle might be able to.
but i personally think it will be very hard to find a replacement for norbert-he is one of a kind!
and as for the comment on his voice, i thought it sounded great on saturday! if that is his voice in a rough condition, i cant even imagine how it was a year ago!

re: Freddy Benson Replacement Ideas

Freddy doesn't need to be chubby at all. His understudy, Jason Gillman, is not fat at all. The bigger belly look, however, does enhances the character. Basically, any actor who is as serious as Norbert was when he took the role would do everything they can to make their Freddy special, including gaining the weight and perhaps foregoing bathing.

Oh and Mimi, Norbert is supposed to be doing his CBS sitcom after his run with DRS is over. Therefore, unless that falls through, that's what is in his future plans. I can, however, accurately quote him based on conversations that he himself does not have an idea what role he will be taking on next. I personally am hoping to see him in some type of Shakespeare.

lol Mamie, Rooney's still young ... if compared to Methusaleh! ha ha ha

I was actually being facetious with the "...last two" comment.

Was kinda serious about Friedle though ... based on his work on Boy Meets World basically. :)

what about Sean Hayes from "Will and Grace"? it's over and he's got free time.
Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo.

Barb, I actually lit up a bit at the idea of Will Friedle--thinking of BMW I really could see him do it. But then it's a question of can he sing, and does he have the stamina to do it 8 times a week?

re: Freddy Benson Replacement Ideas

Will Friedle and singing ... if you recall the graduation episode of BMW where "Eric" sings an awful but hilarious rendition of "To Sir With Love" to "Mr. Feeny" ... then, I'd have to say that if Will's real singing voice is like his BMW character's .... then, no. LOL But he could sure pull off the comedy, so would be great if he really can sing!

Jack Black could handle it, and he would draw major crowds. Wayne Brady seems a bit too cool to play such a sleazebag, but I'd love to see it. Hunter Foster would obviously be a good replacement, as well.

I'd pray for a Jack Black Freddy.

HAHAHA I remember that Barb! It actually frustrated me a bit though...that show was awful with continuity...but I think they went too far with Eric. I mean, for most of the series, he was a tad vain but went through his own problems as Cory did and could be a really interesting character. By the last season, they just turned him into a Feeny-worshipping airhead. Some of the things they had him do...like set fire to something for Cory's wedding...watch the early seasons, that's not what he would have done. Ulgh, very frustrating.

(Sorry to do slight threadjacking).

Hmm, I'll do a bit of thinking, it's very possible that there could have been a time where we could have heard him sing. There were definitely group singings of happy birthday and such but that wouldn't really help...
