The subject came up was "What TV show do you think would be turned into a mega-Broadway musical" We all agreed that it would be "friends" but we all laughed because we knew it would be bad. So my question what TV show do you think would make a great Broadway Musical?
I wish I could sing.

EDIT: I don't really know what to say now that you've re-phrased the question.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Posted: 7/23/06 at 2:42pmIm sorry I didn't make it clear. A Musical version of "Friends" would be bad. You know sounds like it might be great but it won't work. So the question is " What TV show do you think they might turn into a musical but you know it will be abad musical if they did"

That Sex and the City musical came to Dallas...I didn't catch it though.
I'm sure The OC : The Musical would be a HUGE hit!

Well, the creators of FRIENDS wrote a musical revue about twenty-something singles in New York called PERSONALS a few years prior to FRIENDS. There are some unmistakable paralells between some of the characters in PERSONALS and FRIENDS... prototypes, if you will. Anyway, there is a cd availible and the score is very pleasant, particularly the contributions of Stephen (WICKED) Schwartz.

Well, there has already been a musical episode, so I would suggest
"Buffy - The Vampire Slayer - The Musical"!
Unfortunately it would be a huge flop, since it's another vampire musical... 
In the real world the only people who burst into song are the hopelessly deranged...
