I was watching Kiss Me Kate on TCM and remembering how much I loved the '99 revival. Why was "From a This Moment On" not included on the cast album? Was it always a part of the revival?

It was always part of the revival. I'm guessing it was left off the cast recording because of time constraints.

I love the song immensely but I've always found it to be a terrible addition to the KATE score. In terms of context.

The song was cut out-of-town from the 1950 musical Out of This World and put into the 1953 movie of Kiss Me Kate.
The number in the movie is so spectacular that they should probably leave it out of future revivals.
