This actually looks pretty good. The past several seasons have been a great deal of repeats of shows that have been here many times before ("Wicked", "Phantom", etc.) I may get a season pass this time. Thanks for the post.

Ugh, CHITTY???
The only one I like is A CHORUS LINE.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

DAME EDNA! wow! re: Ft. Lauderdale's Broward Center Announces its 2008-2009 Season!

I was about to complain about our season here in Boston (bec. I just love to b*tch!) but I totally forget we are blessed with two try-outs this season- BRIGADOON & OH KAY! plus I heard 1 more new Musical on Broadway...

GREAT Season guys! I am sure my friend Nick (muscle23ftl) will be very happy...I miss him for not posting anymore! re: Ft. Lauderdale's Broward Center Announces its 2008-2009 Season!

I personally wouldn't be happy with that season, but to each his own.
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

Too bad the Broward Center is a huge barn of a theatre - twice as large as the largest Broadway House. No show looks good in this horrendous ampitheatre.
And the season is chock full of Broadway garbage.
SH*Tty SH*Tty
2 jukebox musicals
Avenue Q - the charm of this small show will be lost in the gargantuan mess thats called the Broward Center.

I'd actually rather have Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over Spring Awakening and some of the other tours going around. I enjoyed Chitty on Broadway more than I enjoyed Grey Gardens or Curtains
Dean: Can I tell you something? Lorraine: That depends on what it is. Dean: I think you're really really pretty. Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.

....and I just realized my avatar is the Childcatcher from Chitty, haha I didn't even think about that when I posted.

Chitty is an Equity tour under the Experimental Touring Program, directed by Ray Roderick and choreographed Joann M. Hunter, so it will probably be a bit different from the Broadway production, more double casting and Kiddy-Widdy-Winkies might disappear. I still want to see it out of curiousity for how it turns out.
